About: Tragic Fantasy Novel

Blurb:

The Immortals are said to be creatures of myth, only haunting the pages of old tomes. But after a plague leaves Casiya’s life entangled with theirs, she understands that there is truth to the tales and that the Immortals still toy with the course of history.

So, beneath their watchful eye, Casiya searches to understand the truth of their existence, and how to undo the darkness upon their lives. But after eight years, she has only learned one thing: The Immortals are monsters.

When Casiya makes a deal to help capture an Immortal, a new clue leads to their past. But when dark secrets emerge, threatening the very people she strives to protect, Caisya must decide if the truth is worth pursuing… or if it is worth the pain.

Why write a tragedy?

I have been telling stories since my earliest recollections, writing is just part of who I am. I firmly believe that all stories hold a message that is worth exploring and considering. Fantasy allows us to consider the world, both the good and the evil.

Where did the idea for The Bound come from?

That anyone can be redeemed.

What inspired the world of The Bound?

The idea all began with the opening line, “Kathka was dead.” I thought it was such a compelling opening line and the rest of the idea flowed from that. Further inspiration came from a misisons trip to Haiti and a visit to the Sahara desert.

Who is your favorite character?

I wanted the main character to be morally gray, but his anger and brusque attitude reflect more of a hardened hatred for the world. I wanted him to be awful, and yet all to human and relatable.

What is one thing you want readers to know about your book?

That Nana is my favorite character too.
