2020 Goals
So, January is almost over. 2020 started with a bang, and it's hard to wrap my head around that it's already almost the end of the first month!
This post is a tad late, but I still wanted to officially announce my 2020 Goals before it became February!
I have two main goals for this coming year, one for writing and one for reading.
Goal 1: Write More
I am currently finishing up Draft 6 for Seven Lives Saved, and theoretically, at Draft 8 my story will be ready for publishing. Three more drafts, that's all I have! So my goal for 2020? Keep at it!
Editing is a lengthy process, and it is exhausting. But to think that my manuscript has been brought so close to the completion is mindboggling. The major issue I had with my own story, the ending, has now been resolved. Through continued consideration, an obvious solution dawned on me and I am so excited by this new ending.
Now I just have to keep on editing to tidy it all up, and so my goal is to do just that.
Goal 2: Read More
During college, I read nothing. My read life was consumed by my textbooks. Now that I am graduated, I have much more time to spend on my past time, but too often time can seem to get away from me.
In 2020, I want to read more books in the genre that I write in. This will be an enjoyable goal to work towards, after all, I write in fantasy because I enjoy it! I am not attaching a number of books to read to this goal, because I just want to enjoy the reading itself.
What goals have you set for 2020? A new year is a great opportunity to evaluate how you are using your time to create new habits that are more in line with your overarching goals!
